MAMANET MOVEMENT

Mamanet International Federation Association (MIFA) contributes to building healthy and strong communities with female leadership through athletics—an international language. For the first time in sports, mothers are the central focus, allowing them to reach their potential both individually in their own personal growth, and as communal agents of change. The program includes weekly training to aid and inspire women to lead a healthy lifestyle and to provide tools for personal empowerment, self-realization, and building social capital in their diverse communities.

Mamanet is recognized globally. It received first place for diversity in sports at the European Federation of Sports Organizations Award, won the European Fair Play Award for 2018, and was acknowledged by the UN as leading to social change. Mamanet’s chairwoman and founder, Ofra Abramovich, won the Geller Prize for Outstanding Volunteers, was chosen as Woman of the Year in Israeli Sports by Saloona magazine, and won a certificate of honor from the Olympic Association in India.

Since 2005, the Mamanet league is the largest social-sports organization in Israel for mothers, and has expanded to the Arab world, and countries like the USA, Italy, Austria, Germany, Finland, The Netherlands, Cyprus, and Canada.
